The Virginian

Bill Pullman produces, directs and stars in this faithful adaptation of the first great novel of the American West, Owen Wister's 1902 classic The Virginian. When a mysterious, laconic man (Pullman) known only as the Virginian seeks his fortune in the lawless, 19th-century Wyoming Territory, he falls in love with strong-willed schoolteacher Molly Stark (Diane Lane). Planning for a future with Molly, the Virginian accepts the job of foreman at the sprawling Shiloh Ranch. There, betrayal by his best friend (John Savage) forces the Virginian to protect Shiloh from a rival rancher. But enforcing the West's policy of vigilante justice and upholding his own code of honor may cost him Molly's love.
