Adriana Mather

A direct descendent of early American colonial minister Cotton Mather, actress and writer Adriana Mather's family can trace its roots in the United States to the Mayflower. Mather, a 12th generation American, grew up in Long Island, New York. Mather made her acting debut in the film "Chasing Shakespeare" (2012), also starring Danny Glover and Graham Greene. That same year, Mather cofounded a production company with two friends, called Zombot Pictures. The trio produced two films in which Mather appeared. The first "Eat Spirit Eat" (2013), was a comedy, and the second "Honeyglue" (2014), was a romantic drama. In "Honeyglue" Mather played a woman with only three months to live who engages in a romantic relationship with an artist who identifies as gender fluid. The role required that she shave her head. In 2014 Mather's first novel was completed. An historical young adult novel, How to Hang a Witch was a historical fiction which draws heavily on the history of the Salem witch trials, in which her ancestors played a significant part.
