Gina Holden

Among her first roles were bit parts in the acclaimed series, "The 'L' Word," (Showtime, 2004-09) including the pilot episode, and she quickly racked up credits on television, with guest shots on "The Dead Zone" (USA, 2002-07) and "Supernatural" (CW, 2005-). A regular role on "Reunion" (Fox, 2005) was cut short when the series was cancelled before its first season was complete. Genre fans remembered her brief appearance as a receptionist in "The Fantastic Four" (2005), as well as starring in "Final Destination 3" (2006) and the straight-to-DVD sequel, "Butterfly Effect 2" (2006). Back on the small screen, Holden had regular roles in the Canadian political drama "Da Vinci's City Hall," (CBC, 2005-06) and the supernatural detective series, "Blood Ties" (Lifetime, 2006). Holden was next cast in "Flash Gordon," the latest classic science fiction property to be re-imagined for contemporary viewers, after producers saw her onscreen chemistry with lead Eric Johnson. Holden's character of Arden was updated to be a skeptical television news journalist, investigating strange events leading to the discovery of an inter-dimensional doorway leading to the mysterious planet Mongo ruled by Ming the Merciless. As Arden and Flash battle an array of alien beasts and warriors, they also find themselves rekindling their former romance. In addition to the series, Holden was also cast in the holiday movie, "The Christmas Cottage," (2007) with Peter O'Toole and Marcia Gay Harden, and returned to the science fiction world with the sequel, "Aliens vs. Predator" (2007).
