Vaitiare Bandera

Vaitiare Bandera

Tahiti-born Vaitiare Bandera's rather unique name means "water flower" in Tahitian. After trying her hand at acting in the early '90s, Bandera began appearing in commercials for Toyota, Coors Dry, and J.C. Penney, among others. Her exotic looks worked in her favor in 1993, when she was named the Hispanic spokesperson for Miller Beer. In 1993, Bandera was also named one of the hosts of the Spanish-language game show "Bellezas al agua." From there, Bandera went on to guest-star in a number of American television shows, more notably "Married with Children" and "Murder, She Wrote." In 1997 she landed her best-known role as Sha're, the wife of Daniel Jackson, played by Michael Shanks, on the science fiction series "Stargate SG-1." Bandera developed a romance with her on-screen husband, and in 1998 had a child with Shanks. When she's not acting, Bandera runs three fashion companies out of her home in Los Angeles.
