July 1st is the day where the most trash is created in Montreal. At dawn, Kiki, the driver, and Guillaume, her helper, don’t know yet how difficult their day is going to be. In Côte-des-Neiges, Max is pretty happy to be at the wheel in the air-conditioned cabin, while his two helpers are sweating it out.

Sylvie and her son Niko are picking up the compost bins. Nicko has to run because Sylvie wants to keep up a good pace! Kiki and Guillaume are collecting recyclables in Saint-Léonard. They then empty their truck at the sorting centre, which receives 400,000 tons of recyclable trash each year.

Sylvie and her son Nicko are assigned to compostable. It is every trash collector’s nightmare, as the smell is absolutely horrendous. Sylvie’s truck fills up with the sauce, the juices from composting, which threaten to overflow. In Verdun, Luc has two helpers, which allows him to go faster, but the guys will have to be ready to run!

Dannick and his friend Mitchell, nicknamed Karate Kid, start their trash collecting at Saint-Joseph Oratory. For her part, Kiki is working with Bruno, who is also Italian; : drivers who would cut them off better beware! Sylvie finds a pile of old stained mattresses and yells to her son Nicko not touch them because of bed bugs.

Working in the rain, Sylvie is working with Matthew a new helper who’s far from convinced that he’s made the right career choice. At the same time, Guy and his helper Jean, two grizzled vets, are picking up trash from alleyways in the company’s smallest truck.

It’s Jean-Marie’s first day on the job and he is being trained by Ti-Christ, one of the most experienced helpers in the company. Dan is finding Fall difficult: with the addition of leaves to the compost bins, his guys are overwhelmed. Sylvie tries to raise Alex’s morale with her jokes.
