49 Days with A Merman
Long Jie (Kent Tsai), a high school student plagued by constant misfortune, finds his life dramatically altered when he encounters Ren Yu (Bruce He), a mysterious merman who cannot survive long out of water. After a family tragedy leaves Long Jie alone, he reluctantly helps Ren Yu by bringing him home and allowing him to inhabit his bathtub. As they develop an unexpected friendship, Ren Yu even becomes Long Jie's classmate, adding complexity to their already unusual relationship. However, the magical connection between Ren Yu and the sea threatens to disrupt their bond, raising questions about whether their friendship can survive the merman's inevitable pull back to the ocean. This is a 2022 Taiwanese drama series that was directed by Zhang Xi Ming.
