Buddy and Sam embark on a unique housing journey - to build a new 60-home subdivision adjacent to the Lion's Gate Bridge. But with 1,100 band members already on the housing list, demand is far surpassing supply.

Wayne visits with Chris Maracle, housing director for Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte (MBQ), to see how and why they've managed to make affordable, energy-efficient housing a priority for their southern Ontario community.

Now that we've come to understand the challenges with home construction on reserves, episode 3 turns it's attention to how we make existing homes last longer.

From the Gaspe Bay and Maritimes, Wayne travels to Hartley Bay, a remote fly-in boat-in community on B.C.'s north coast. Ernie Westgarth, housing director for the Gitga'at Nation, explains how this community dealt with their mold problem.

Wayne shifts the focus to alternative energy and sustainable housing as we see how one community is building towards a sustainable future. We travel to Manitoulin Island on the Georgian Bay in Northern Ontario.

Wayne follows the construction progress of two log homes and gets a sense of how difficult it will be to make this a reality in Ulkatcho First Nation.
