Counterfeit Cat

When Ranceford impresses the other park animals with her tales of becoming the face of Dainty Paws cat nibbles, Max decides to regale everyone with a story of his own, about how he and Gark became international singing stars. / Max is teaching Gark how to play with cat toys when he accidentally bats his favourite toy, Charles Anthony, under the couch. Max is absolutely distraught and explains to Gark that once a cat toy goes under the couch, it has gone forever. Gark figures there must be an explanation and investigates. To his delight he discovers a rip in space time under the sofa!

Max is showing off to Gark that he’s able to manipulate Betty into getting food when he wants it. All he has to do is look super cute and rub himself round her ankles but things aren’t quite as simple when Betty buys a new automatic cat feeder which doesn’t respond to the same techniques. If only he could reason with it. / Gark is desperate to find out what’s in Betty’s parcel but he’s a little too over-enthusiastic and ends up breaking whatever’s inside. He figures the best thing to do is to go out and find a replacement. Max is less enthusiastic about a spontaneous adventure and tries everything he can to stall Gark.

Max makes the most of having an alien best friend and uses Gark’s powers to do things he’s too lazy to do himself but the more Gark helps Max with unnecessary tasks, the bigger the lump on Gark’s head grows. / Max wants to join The Sunshine Circle, a group of cats who lie on warm concrete in the park, but to do so they have to pass a cat initiation test set out by the leader, Ranceford. Despite Gark’s weird alien attempts at the tasks, he passes the test with flying colours and is welcomed into the club.

Max is looking forward to his favourite kitty treats but Betty’s bad eyesight means she’s bought dog biscuits instead. It’s a disaster of unmitigated proportions. Max won’t go anywhere near a dog biscuit, no matter how greedy he may be. / Max is insecure about his cat prowess after Gark coughs up a much more impressive furball. All Max wants is to cough up bigger and better furballs so he goes behind Gark’s back and uses the alien internet to sign up for a furball enhancer.

Gark's brand new wormhole arrives in the alien mail and he's super excited to show Max. Unfortunately for Max, he’s too busy being terrified by Anton, a very aggressive dog who’s new in town. / Max’s inner tiger is unleashed when Gark accidentally discovers a cat nip toy. Despite knowing that he shouldn’t go near the toy because of it’s effects on him, Max can’t help himself and before you know it, his catnip fuelled rage has set in.

When Betty is angry and upset after losing a senior citizen’s rap battle, she needs to do something to make herself feel better so hangs the “Hang in There” cat poster on the wall. / When Gark notices a huge wart on Betty’s face that seems to have appeared overnight, he’s terrified that it must be Zaxos, an intergalactic criminal who’s out to get him. Max laughs off his concerns and thinks he’s being ridiculous.
