After her daughter's suicide, psychologist Susanne withdraws for weeks; a stranger asks for help, but while under hypnosis, he makes a terrible confession.

Susanne tells police chief Richard, her husband's superior and friend, about her mysterious patient; Richard claims that he knows nothing about the murders of young women.

Susanne meets Officer Louise, who turns out to be a former client, whom she helped after a rape; when Susanne discovers that the police commissioner is calling Louise, she's suspect that something's wrong.

Susanne succeeds in questioning her ex-husband Bjorn, who is in prison for murder; Bjorn gives her the name of the club and advises her to seek help.

Susanne finds the witness Sapphire in the strip club and learns that she is likely the next victim with John as the murder suspect.

A desperate Susanne looks for help to find Sapphire, who has fled; she contacts CC, a war veteran and former patient with PTSD.
