Hardliners

In the depths of winter, the long line tuna-fishing season starts off the east coast of Australia. The three skippers of Hardliners - Tony "Chug" Lagana, Paul Lavalle and Tony Cross - all leave port in their boats primed to land big fish and make money. All will brave extreme conditions but while the dangers are great they know the rewards can be greater.

A raging storm smashes the Hardliner boats threatening the lives of the crew as they bravely fish for tuna. Will the long line skippers defy the worst storm of the season - or run for the safety of port?

Skipper Tony bravely gambles the crew's wages at auction after a daring dash for cash while skipper Chug pushes his crew hard. Skipper Paul is determined to turn his luck around but finds himself trapped in busy shipping lanes.

The Santo Rocco's line is cut as the crew works for 30 hours in a storm trying to land tuna. Skipper Paul reveals his marriage - and all he owns - is on the line if he doesn't turn his season around while angry skipper Tony battles another long line skipper.

Disaster strikes skipper Paul and his crew as they break down way out to sea. Skipper Chug on the Santo Rocco answers the mayday call but has big problems of his own. Meanwhile, skipper Tony hits the jackpot.

A major emergency operation is underway to rescue skipper Paul and his crew on the stricken South Seas, while a deckhand is down for the count on the Santo Rocco when he's struck a painful blow. Meanwhile, skipper Tony goes overboard for a science experiment.
