James May's Man Lab

In this first episode, from the Man Lab HQ, the team build a functional, if not beautiful kitchen area before setting up a miniature railway delivery system within the lab. James shows us how to diffuse a WWII bomb and the way to melt an ice maiden’s heart through the lost art of serenading. Comedian Alexander Armstrong also pops in to take on the challenge of beating his personal best time for assembling flat-pack furniture. James devises an ingenious way to rescue any Man Labber caught short of toilet paper. The team also works together to construct a bar, that despite some dodgy measurements, serves a proper pint. Outside HQ, James uses a variety of unorthodox methods to navigate across the English Channel without a sat nav, before settling a parking dispute the old fashioned way – with a duel. The team also constructs a sky rocket, two men settle a 25-year-old quarrel by dueling sabres, and James uses modern technology to help a man on a first date.
