Leung Siu Tong (Michael Tse), known as “Laughing,” is an experienced undercover agent who returns from a long-term assignment in Mainland China to the Hong Kong Police’s Criminal Intelligence Bureau (CIB) to teach new recruits. His new commander is Senior Inspector Jodie Chau (Fala Chen), who bears an unsettling resemblance to his former lover, Karen. As Laughing and Jodie recruit new undercover agents, Laughing personally recruits Lap Ching (Jin Au Yeung). The newly assembled undercover team go after the Yee Fung, a large triad organization that they have been pursuing for years, and the dangerous leader Lat Keung (Ben Wong), known as “Spicy Ginger.” Lap Ching infiltrates the Yee Fung as a low-level gangster and pimp, while Laughing fosters his relationship with a crippled low-level gangster, Michael So (Bosco Wang), who agrees to become Laughing’s informant in exchange for Laughing’s help to move up the ranks of the triad organization. When Laughing’s plan works all too well, will Michael become a too-powerful gangster who can’t be stopped? “Lives of Omission” is a 2011 Hong Kong drama series.
