We meet three ride-or-die friends who live boldly liberal lives in one of the most conservative states in the nation. Jen and Lee try to get the old Angie "Pumps" back, but the current version isn’t going anywhere. Meanwhile, Josh and Jen navigate the role reversal of their post-married life.
Lee goes on a blind date for the first time in 17 years, and Jen and Pumps don't make it easy for her; contemplating his future, Josh is determined to to make the most of his summer with the boys.
The group takes a road trip to Grand Lake for a weekend getaway; Pumps gets mad when Lee and Jen make her the target of their pranks; Josh irritates everyone with his sexual banter.
Pumps confesses to being a helicopter parent, but her "sippy cup runneth over," so Jen and Lee try their best to set her straight; Josh rebels against his to-do list, and Jen is forced to rent-a-husband.
Lee seeks revenge on her neighbors for cutting down her tree and makes sure they'll never forget it; Jen and Roman devise a plan to punk Pumps with an elaborate birthday party for Tubbers.
Jen throws an elaborate first birthday party for her spoiled service dog, Tubby, to get back at Pumps; Pumps and Kay get duped into showing up at the party in costume.
