Macross II

In the year 2090, the Space Battleship Macross that once saved Earth has turned into a city monument, and the human race now enjoys prosperity alongside the Zentran. However, a war between the Extrasolar species Marduk and the U.N. Military breaks out unexpectedly. Hibiki, a TV reporter, heads to the battlefield to capture scenes of the war. Amid the chaos, Hibiki manages to get into the enemy's battleship and encounters Ishtar, a beautiful young girl in a slumber.

Lord Feff follows Hibiki and Ishtar back to Earth ad turns in the story. He doesn't tell anyone other than his friend Mash about Ishtar. As he's filming the sleeping Ishtar for his story, she wakes and is afraid, wondering where she is. After being fitted with a translator, she is able to understand Hibiki and he is able to calm her down enough to learn her name. She learns there are Zentran and Meltran (males and females) living together on the planet with the humans. While they are talking, the SDF-1 Macross emits another energy discharge, and Ishtar says that it's the light of the Alus. Hibiki then turns on the news and learns that the military is preventing SNN from broadcasting all of the footage and is glossing over the actual events of the battle.

Hibiki hears the shocking truth from Ishtar and decides to bring her to the Moon Festival. Meanwhile, Lord Feff of the Marduk Fleet launches an attack and plans to kidnap Wendy, an idol singer.

Hibiki and Silvie attempt to infiltrate the Fleet Flagship to save Ishtar. Meanwhile, Ingues, Lord Emperor of the Marduk, orders the destruction of the flagship.

Hibiki and Silvie return to Earth and try to reveal the truth by releasing the video they had filmed inside the enemy fleet. Meanwhile, an intense battle between the U.N. Military and the Marduk Fleet is about to commence.

The Marduk Fleet begins their plan to obliterate Earth with their devastating military power, while Silvie and Hibiki make their way toward the Bridge of the Macross to destroy the enemy fleet.
