The idyllic village of Altenhain is shaken when Tobias Sartorius returns from prison. Seven years ago, he allegedly murdered the village beauty. Suddenly, the former village teacher is found hanged.

An einem frühen Morgen machen betrunkene Jugendliche am Ufer des Mains einen grausigen Fund: Die Leiche eines 16-jährigen Mädchens wurde angespült. Offenbar trieb die Leiche schon seit einiger Zeit im Main, aber niemand hat die Tote als vermisst gemeldet. Nach der Obduktion steht fest, dass das Mädchen jahrelang brutal misshandelt und vergewaltigt wurde. Einen Selbstmord oder einen Unfall könne ausgeschlossen werden.
