Dave Gorman

Dave Gorman is a comedic storyteller and stand-up comic who first made his name in the mid-1990s working as a writer on alternative humor programs "The Fast Show," featuring Paul Whithouse and Charlie Higson, and "The Mrs. Merton Show," a talk show parody starring Caroline Aherne. Gorman had major success with the stage performance and book "Are You Dave Gorman?," which was then filmed for television and released in 2001. In the production, Gorman tells a good friend about another person who shares his name. The two go in search of him and then travel around England and America looking for other people named Dave Gorman. The show was successful and led to a follow-up series, "Dave Gorman's Important Astrology Experiment," which chronicled his testing the legitimacy of astrology. In 2003, he went in search of successful googlewhackers--or people who had entered two words without quotation marks to Google's search engine with only a single returned result. The resulting show, "Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure," was another hit. He also toured America with the show, which was filmed as "America Unchained." American viewers may also remember Gorman for his guest appearances as a news correspondent on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." That same year in 2006, Gorman was a regular on the game show parody, "Annually Retentive." He was also the host of a comedy game show, "Genius," which started airing in 2009.
