What the Day Owes to the Night
A mesmerizing choreography by Hervé Koubi, where mysticism and modern dance intertwine. In this mystical, enchanting and hypnotic choreography, Hervé Koubi retraces his own history by relating it to the story of a young boy from a novel by Yasmina Khadra. Together with twelve dancers from Algeria and Burkina Faso, originally street dancers, Koubi has worked on this almost 10-year project to bring it to perfection. Inspired by orientalist paintings and the filigree stone carvings of Islamic architecture, the complex entanglements are transferred into modern dance.
