S1, E2: In this episode, Janny explores the foreign influences on Dutch cuisine. Marco, the Italian owner of the Rotterdam restaurant Il Carrotto, prepares a Hawaiian pizza, and together, Marco and his father prepare risotto. At Sea Palace, the first Chinese restaurant in the Netherlands, where there is no babi or nasi on the menu, Janny eats chicken legs and fermented eggs. She takes a peek into the kitchen, where a special chef is preparing a dish of dried duck blood with stomach. Janny feels more at home with Tiago Vitorino, who is half Mozambican/Portuguese and a fan of Dutch cuisine. And in Ten Katemarkt, Janny visits a hummus stand and a Surinamese/Chinese toko.
