Erik Griffin

Raised in Los Angeles, Erik Griffin started performing stand up full time in 2003. He attracted attention at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival in 2008. In 2011, he premiered on "Workaholics" (Comedy Central, 2011-17). On the series, Griffin played the Montez Walker, the main antagonist and leader of small group that acts to spoil the fun of their slacker co-workers who lead the show. Griffin released his first album of stand up, "Technical Foul: Vol. 1" in 2013. The album coincided with the release of his first half-hour stand up special on Comedy Central. In 2015, he made his first appearance as Gershawn, a recurring role on "Blunt Talk" (Starz, 2015-16), starring Patrick Stewart as a British newscaster transplanted to Los Angeles. The next year Griffin played a supporting role in "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates" (2016). Griffin next became a series regular on the drama "I'm Dying Up Here" (Showtime, 2017-), a fictionalized take on the stand up scene in Los Angeles in the 1970s.
