Henning Valin Jakobsen

Danish actor Henning Valin Jakobsen racked up credits in nearly every major Scandinavian crime noir before making his English-language debut in historical adventure "The Last Kingdom" (BBC1, 2015). Jakobsen's acting career took off relatively late, only graduating from acting school at Odense Teater in his mid-30s, but after making his TV and film debut in legal dramas "Forsvar" (TV 2, 2003-04) and "The Judge" (2005) respectively, he never stopped working. Following one-off parts in "The Killing" (DR1, 2007-2012) and "Anna Pihl" (TV 2, 2006-08), Jakobsen played a blackmailer in thriller "The Candidate" (2008), appeared as Peter in relationship comedy "Truth About Men" (2010) and enjoyed recurring roles in advent calendar-style kids fantasy "Pagten" (DR1, 2009-2013), family drama "Sommer" (DR1, 2009) and crime series "Lulu and Leon" (TV3, 2009). Roles in gritty teen drama "Rebounce" (2011) and musical "Magi i luften" (2011) then followed before Jakobsen returned to the crime noir genre with a three-episode stint as policeman Jesper in "The Bridge" (DR1, 2011-). Jakobsen then played a crime reporter in slick hostage thriller "The Shooter" (2013) and a teacher who quits his job to become an inventor in family comedy "Crumbs: All at Stake" (2014), added graphic murder mystery "The Absent One" (2014) and gold mining fraud drama "Upstart" (2014) to his filmography and landed the role of Storri in his first English-language production, "The Last Kingdom" (BBC1, 2015).
