Dr. Dangerfield is consulted on a sensitive case; police officer Nigel Spenser is accused of brutally beating a young man while he was being arrested.

Paul's son gets caught up in an accidental shooting which results in the death of a local farmer, and Dangerfield is called in to investigate.

Dangerfield is called down to the police station to examine a suspected rape victim; a man is arrested and Paul is horrified to discover that Kate is acting as his solicitor.
