It never occurred to 40-year-old Dr. Martin Gruber that he would one day return to his home town in the Alps for good. Prompted by external circumstances, he gives up his job in New York and opens a practice in the mountains. Now he has to deal with all kinds of family problems, for his resentful brother is there, as well as a daughter he never knew he had.
