Carolyn Hennesy

Actress Carolyn Hennesy is a veteran of the trenches of Hollywood, having been brought up in a showbiz family. Her father, Dale Hennesy, was an Oscar-winning production designer who worked on the science fiction films "Fantastic Voyage" and "Logan's Run," as well as on the Mel Brooks comedy "Young Frankenstein" and the 1976 version of "King Kong." Her aunt is actress Barbara Rush, who gave the younger Hennesy plenty of acting tips in preparation for her career. Hennesy is a stage-trained actress and has studied and performed with many regional and national theatre companies, including the American Conservatory Theatre and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She also studied improvisatory comedy with the Groundlings. Her gift for comedy shines through in many of her roles, including parts in "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde," "That '70s Show," and "Click." Her best known roles, though, are on daytime soap "General Hospital," as whip-smart lawyer Diane Miller, and on "Cougar Town," as the lusty Barb, Courtney Cox's character's real estate partner.
