John Turner

John Turner was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Turner started his acting career landing roles in films, such as the George Nader crime feature "Nowhere to Go" (1959), the sci-fi picture "The Giant Behemoth" (1959) with Gene Evans and the Edward G Robinson dramatic adaptation "Sammy Going South" (1963). He also appeared in the Robert Ryan adventure "Captain Nemo and the Underwater City" (1970) and "The Slipper and the Rose" (1976) with Richard Chamberlain. He had an early role on the television special "A Place To Die" (ABC, 1974-75). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the eighties and the nineties, appearing in "Caligula et Messalina" (1982), the Bob Geldof crime flick "Number One" (1984) and "The Power of One" (1992). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "The Return of Sam McCloud" (CBS, 1989-1990). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "Jeeves and Wooster, Series II" (PBS, 1992-93) and "Jeeves and Wooster, Series III" (PBS, 1993-94). He also had a part in the TV miniseries "Merlin" (1997-98). Most recently, Turner acted in the western "Cartel 1882" (2007) with Michael Gregory.
