Lyndon Brook

British-born Lyndon Brook was an accomplished actor who appeared in many Hollywood films throughout his Hollywood career. Brook began his acting career appearing in various films, such as "The Purple Plain" (1955) with Gregory Peck, the drama "Reach For the Sky" (1956) with Kenneth More and "The Spanish Gardener" (1956). He also appeared in the Melina Mercouri dramatic adaptation "The Gypsy and the Gentleman" (1958). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the sixties and the seventies, appearing in the biopic "Song Without End" (1960) with Dirk Bogarde and the crime adaptation "Surprise Package" (1960) with Yul Brynner. He also appeared in the TV special "Point Counterpoint" (PBS, 1972-73). During the latter part of his career, he continued to act in "Who?" (1975) and the dramatic adaptation "Plenty" (1985) with Meryl Streep. He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "I, Claudius" (PBS, 1977-78). Brook more recently acted in the Gabriel Byrne spy thriller "Defence of the Realm" (1986).
