Vivi Bach

Surprisingly enough, before Vivi Bach entered the world of acting and became known as the Danish version of France's beautiful Brigitte Bardot, she worked as a hairstylist. A vivacious beauty, Bach also pursued modeling and singing early in her career. This foray into entertainment helped land her first acting role in the 1958 Danish comedy "Krudt og Klunker." Even as Bach pursued her singing career--she landed a singing contract in Germany--she kept busy in film and TV. From the late 1950s to the mid-1970s, she appeared in almost 50 films and at least six TV series, including the 1966 romantic comedy "Ski Fever" and the 1970 family saga "Ein Tag Ist Schoener Als Der Andere." Considering many of her acting roles were small ones, she may be remembered most for her time on the controversial German game show "Wünsch Dir Was." Bach hosted the program from 1970 to 1972 for a total of 17 episodes--one of which staged a car accident in which an entire family nearly drowned! While Bach's last film was in 1969, Bach continued to work in TV, working as an actress in the Austrian series "Luftsprünge" and as a singer in one episode of the game show "Am Laufenden Band." After 1976, Bach moved behind the camera and worked as a TV producer in Germany.
