Absentia

Emily does everything she can to deal with the consequences of her recent actions while suspended; she feels she can no longer trust anyone around her and senses danger everywhere.

After being declared dead in absentia, an FBI agent must reclaim her family, identity and innocence when she finds herself the prime suspect in a string of murders.

Nick wakes up completely disoriented and in darkness; Emily still hasn't accepted that Nick is supposed to be dead and signs a deal to save him; only later does she realize that everyone is in danger.

Emily asks the FBI staff to search for Nick, but her concerns fall on deaf ears; driven by the FBI's rejection, she devises a risky plan; meanwhile, Nick is being psychologically tortured in Europe.

Emily complies with Dawkins' request to finally be taken to Nick but orchestrates a skillful move in the process; Nick continues to fight his feelings of guilt and paranoia.

Nick continues to be tortured but finds an opportunity to try to escape from his captors; Cal and Emily head off to rescue Nick and grow closer along the way.
