Liu Lang is hired to defend a big food corporation in a food safety case, but while he's gathering evidence for his defence a five-year-old boy shows up claiming to be his son.

Liu Lang becomes the scapegoat as his food safety case spirals out of his control. When he ends up losing his job and needing to pay back the company he defended, Liu struggles to piece his life back together.

Liu Lang refuses to help Lin Xiao-yan with finding evidence so she can sue the owner of a construction business unless she pays him, starting to strain their relationship.

Liu Liang tries to enrol Liang-liang in kindergarten so he can get away from his child.

Liu Liang gets Liang-liang to help him collect more evidence of mistreatment in his kindergarten, but it causes Liang-liang to become more isolated from the few friends he has.
