Pauline Melville

Actress Pauline Melville appeared on the big screen many times over the course of her Hollywood career. Melville's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as the Julie Christie dramatic adaptation "Far From the Madding Crowd" (1967), "Ulysses" (1967) and "The Long Good Friday" (1980). She also appeared in the documentary "Live a Life" (1982) with The Beat. She continued to act in productions like the drama "Scrubbers" (1982) with Amanda York, the comedy "Britannia Hospital" (1983) with Leonard Rossiter and the Bob Hoskins romance "Mona Lisa" (1986). She also appeared in the Alexei Sayle comedy "Didn't You Kill My Brother?" (1987). During the latter part of her career, she continued to act in the Richard E Grant comedy "How to Get Ahead in Advertising" (1989) and the dramatic adaptation "Shadowlands" (1993) with Anthony Hopkins. Additionally, she appeared on the television special "The House of Bernarda Alba" (PBS, 1991-92). Melville more recently acted in "Utz" (1993) with Armin Mueller-Stahl.
