Kathleen Noone

Actress Kathleen Noone has certainly left her mark on television's soap operas, starring in three acclaimed examples of the style during the 1980s and '90s: the daytime stalwart "All My Children," long-running nighttime soap "Knots Landing," and the glitzy "Sunset Beach." Noone began her professional acting career during the mid 1970s on "As the World Turns," before landing the role of Ellen Tucker Shepherd Chandler Dalton on "All My Children." Appearing on numerous episodes of the program throughout the 1980s, Noone won a Daytime Emmy for her portrayal of Dalton, and was nominated for an additional Daytime Emmy and three Soap Opera Digest Awards. After "All My Children," Noone immediately secured another substantial role, Claudia Whittaker, on "Knots Landing," which led to another Soap Opera Digest Awards nomination in 1992. After small roles on such non-soaps as the classic sitcom "Frasier" and the courtroom drama "L.A. Law," Noone appeared on numerous episodes of "Sunset Beach" during the late 1990s as the character Bette Katzenkazrahi, resulting in additional Daytime Emmy and Soap Opera Digest Awards nominations. Shortly thereafter, Noone landed a recurring role on the campy, fantasy-tinged soap "Passions," from 2002 through its cancellation in 2008.
