Effie Brown

Effie T. Brown's career proved her skill and knack for producing pithy and charismatic films. In 2012, she was the producer of the TV series "Jan." Brown worked on a variety of projects during her early entertainment career, including "But I'm A Cheerleader" (2000), "Desert Blue" (1999) and "Erotique" (1995). She also contributed to "Spark" (1998) starring Nicole Ari Parker, "The Five Heartbeats" (1991) starring Robert Townsend and "True Brit" with Zoe Nathenson (1994). Brown shifted her focus from comedies to drama in the early 2000s, producing movies like "Stranger Inside" (2001) and "Exactly Like You" (2005). Brown then focused on film, producing the James Badge Dale drama "Polish Bar" (2013) and the comedy "Dear White People" (2014) with Tyler James Williams. Additionally, Brown produced the television show "Blue: A Secret Life" (Lifetime Movie Network, 2016). Most recently, Brown produced "Star" (Fox, 2016-).
