Jamie Paul Rock

Jamie Paul Rock broke into television in 1980 with a job as the floor director of the influential Canadian sketch comedy series "SCTV," which launched the careers of such successful actors as Eugene Levy ("American Pie"), Rick Moranis ("Honey, I Shrunk the Kids"), and John Candy ("Uncle Buck"). Rock stuck with the show as it changed time slots, locations, and even broadcast channels, eventually earning a credit as associate producer and director on the quirky and highly improvised show. After it went off the air in 1984, Rock landed work as assistant director on a number of TV shows and films, most notably on the Emmy-nominated horror series "Friday the 13th," about two antique store owners forced to hunt down cursed antiques, and the Canadian historical drama "Where the Spirit Lives." In 1994, Rock produced the sci-fi TV movie "TekWar: TekLords," based on William Shatner's successful series of futuristic novels about a hallucinogenic drug, "tek," and joined the production team of its spin-off series, the critically-acclaimed "TekWar." From 1997 to 2001, he served as a producer on the adaptation of Luc Besson's "La Femme Nikita," which was reworked into a Canadian action drama starring Peta Wilson as Nikita, an innocent young woman recruited by and trained by a shadowy counterterrorism organization to become a highly-skilled assassin. Rock has since produced several episodes of the science-based TV drama "ReGenesis" and the quickly-canceled football series "Playmakers."
