Between Heartbeats

S2, E4: The city, bathed in summer morning light, comes to life. Café owners wipe down tables, birds drink from the puddles of last night's rain and clean air lifts the spirits of early morning commuters. A young woman makes a date on her cell phone. A wife drops her husband off downtown. Young executives chatter about the day's business. And then...CRACK! The young woman crumples to the sidewalk, mid-stride. The husband joins a cluster of people trying to help, when – CRACK! – he falls too. People panic and scatter, no idea which way is safe. Within moments, the street is deserted. An hour later and 40 blocks away, it happens again. Another hour later, two more people are shot. A lone sniper is on a rampage and he's holding an entire city hostage. Calling himself "Jaeger" (the "Hunter") the sniper leaves a trail of clues that only a highly-skilled marksman can decode. It's sniper against sniper, rooftop to rooftop, brain against brain, as Ed and Parker try to get inside the head of a psychopath and use all their tactical brilliance to anticipate a murderer's next move. Team One, challenged to the extremes of their training, force the man into a final showdown. But as they save a city, one of their own pay the price...
