S1, E6: There's a fairground in town and Mia takes the kids there. Her worse fears come true when she recognizes one of the stall holders - her brother. Knowing her mum must be in one of the caravans at the back, she goes to find her. Her mum doesn't acknowledge her. But when her brother arrives home, he's embarrassed and humiliated by Mia. He never accepted the idea of a sex change.
