Goodnight Mr. Tom

This classic tale, set in World War II, is now a family movie. Tom Oakley (John Thaw - Inspector Morse) is a cantankerous old man exiled from the life of the local village and weighed down by his sad memories. All this is set to change, however, when Tom is ‘given’ William Beech (Nick Robinson), an 11-year-old evacuee from London. Surprisingly, a bond develops between the two which becomes so strong that when William suddenly returns to London, Tom is forced to act to save the child.
