S1 E8: Jesper Berg understands that he will not get anywhere with the EU, and initiates a police action in order to get the Russians out of the country. The Russian ambassador, Sidorova, advises him to refrain from continuing to expel Russians, but Jesper Berg dismisses her warnings. This leads to him being taken hostage by a Russian paramilitary group. HM is now working closely with the Russians and has faith that he will be able to rescue the Prime Minister by negotiation, but PST decides to liberate Berg by killing the paramilitaries in a sniper attack. Bente, Petter and Maja are slowly recovering after Thomas' death, trying to get back to everyday life. Bente refuses to accept that the death was anything more than an accident, but eventually it becomes too difficult for her to ignore how plausible it is that he was murdered by the Russians.
