About two-thirds of the population in Lima lives in Pamplona Alta, on the outskirts. The wooden and tin cabins people call home have no gas, no electricity, and no running water. On the other side of the wall, in Las Casuarinas and La Molina, tarmac streets hemmed in with green spaces lead to opulent villas with gardens and swimming pools.
