Battleship Potemkin

Sergei Eisenstein's classic silent film presents a dramatised version of the mutiny that occurred on the Potemkin. The mutiny, sparked by maggot infected rations, is suppressed by the authorities. The mutineers are put before a firing squad, but the executioners throw their lot in with the rebels and soon the ship incites the people of Odessa to rise against the Tsarist regime, part of the wider 1905 Revolution.
