Bhaji on the Beach

Gurinder Chadha's (Bend it Like Beckham) directorial debut won a BAFTA and a prize at Locarno. It tells the story of a group of Asian women living in the inner city who take a daytrip to the seaside showing the tensions between the older generation who were born in India and the younger generation who must reconcile the conflicting values of their family with the culture they were born into.
