CIA agent Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) discovers links between a Colombian drugs cartel and the US government. This fine follow-up to Patriot Games features a breathtaking set-piece where a convoy of CIA men are ambushed in a Colombian city. As in Patriot Games, Ford plays author Tom Clancy's hero with a mixture of stoical grit and gravitas while conspiracy theorists will have a field day second guessing which US official is stitching up the administration. Superior action fare.
