The archaeological ruins in Lybia, mainly Roman, are truly exceptional on account of their size and preservation. In the third Century, the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus "the African", transformed this old Carthaginian trading post into a showcase of a triumphant Rome: a town built to show its power to the African people. Leptis Magna symbolizes the myth of Rome more than any other site.
