Primal Fear

Enthralling courtroom thriller with Richard Gere as a flashy Chicago attorney who defends a 19-year-old altar boy accused of murdering his archbishop. Edward Norton earned an Oscar nomination (in his movie debut) as the defendant who isn't all that he seems, while Laura Linney and Frances McDormand round out the high-quality cast. A kicker of a final revelation makes this entertainment in the first degree.
