Live-action version of the classic stone-age cartoon series. Fred Flintstone donates his family savings to help neighbour Barney Rubble and wife Betty adopt a child, much to the dismay of mother-in-law Pearl. To return the favour, Barney swaps slabs with Fred in an aptitude test, resulting in Fred's being promoted and becoming involved in an embezzlement plot, while Barney is left in the dole queue.
