The History of The Royal Navy
For centuries the peoples of the British isles had looked to the sea as their front line of defense. A natural barrier against the designs of their foes. But the sea alone was not enough as successive waves of conquerers had shown. Only organized sea power allied to the change of the sea would render Britain the island fortress she was to become. It was to this end that the Royal Navy evolved.
