Women of Genius

Challenging the notion of the isolated “genius,” this concert reveals the histories of female poets, performers, and composers who not only made their voices heard but exerted a stronger cultural influence than many realize. Soprano Clara Rottsolk sings premiere recordings of songs by Julie Pinel and Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre’s thrilling cantata Judith. Instrumental works by Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, Mademoiselle Duval, François Couperin, and others complete the program.
