Betty Gilpin

American actress Betty Gilpin was fortunate to have both of her parents be professional actors. Her father was Jack Gilpin, star of such films as "Adventureland" (2009), and her mom was Ann McDonough of "The Mothman Prophecies" (2002) and other films. The love and support of her parents made the decision to pursue acting an easy one for the young Betty Gilpin. When it came time to enroll in college, she picked Fordham College, where she learned to hone her craft. After graduation, Gilpin started acting in Off-Broadway plays, while auditioning for film and TV roles. She landed a guest spot on NBC's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (2001-2011), and followed that up with small roles in "Ghost Town" (2008) and "The Northern Kingdom" (2009). Gilpin continued to nab mostly TV guest spots over the next few years until she landed her first break in 2013 with a recurring role on "Nurse Jackie." As Dr. Carrie Roman, Gilpin appeared on 34 episodes of the series before "Nurse Jackie" ended its run in June 2015. The same year, Gilpin appeared in mystery-thriller "True Story" (2015).
