Seven untrained students meet their chef/mentors and cook them their personality on a plate. After realising how much hard work it is, Amanda questions whether she has what it takes.

The students must start from the bottom up, learning how to survive the fast paced diner environment, and a new student arrives and the rest of the house wonder if Amanda is gone for good.

The students are coached on knife skills, and cooking with four types of heat.

The students learn about flavour profiles where they must use the five tastes in a challenge. Tension soars when the house is divided, a food fight ensues, and the house turns on Harrison.

The students create a dish that pairs with an alcoholic beverage, and the chefs come to the house for a party and judge the pairings.

The cast has its first baking challenge with Chef Brooke, Gillian feels the pressure to be the best, and tensions between Suki and Will threaten to ruin their friendship.
