John Dullaghan

Veteran actor John Dullaghan created many memorable characters both on- and off-screen over the course of his career; in addition to his numerous film and TV roles, Dullaghan was also an accomplished stage actor who appeared in dozens of plays around the United States He started his career appearing in early '70s soft-core adult films, and used an appearance as a sympathetic police commissioner in Mario Van Peebles's iconic "Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song" as leverage into more respectable roles. He next appeared in the unintentionally hilarious "The Thing with Two Heads," a campy thriller starring "The Lost Weekend"'s Ray Milland as a dying racist whose scheme to transplant his head onto another man's body goes terribly wrong. He landed a recurring role on the award-winning drama "Barney Miller" as Ray Brewer, a lonely drifter who occasionally stops to chat with the officers of a Greenwich Village police precinct, and portrayed chief scientist Dr. Wilker on the sci-fi drama "Battlestar Galactica," about a future war between exiled humans and sentient robots known as Cylons. Dullaghan later appeared on the chimp-centric "B.J. and the Bear" as a wise bartender who frequently lent his ear to the title trucker, and played a slow-talking defendant on the courtroom sitcom "Night Court."
