Stephen Nathan

Stephen Nathan is a television writer and producer who has worked on such shows as "Bones" and "Family Law." Nathan's interest in drama and theater led him to pursue a career in acting, and in 1971 he received critical acclaim for his inaugural performance of the Jesus character in the long-running musical "Godspell." After relocating to Los Angeles in the late '70s, Nathan appeared in such TV series as "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "Rhoda," and landed a recurring role on the sitcom "Busting Loose." His TV writing career began on the primetime sitcom "Laverne & Shirley," and Nathan has since worked on the writing staff of such shows as "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Joan of Arcadia," and "Bones." Nathan, who has also worked as a story consultant on the shows "Grace Under Fire" and "City," began his producing career on the 1985 TV movie "The Eagle and the Bear" and soon became executive producer on such series as "Love & War" and "Jesse." He produced all 32 episodes of the critically beloved "Joan of Arcadia," about a girl who is not sure if she's hearing the voice of God or if she's going crazy. From 2005 to 2010 Nathan also served as executive producer of the primetime procedural "Bones," which follows a forensic scientist and an FBI agent and the crimes they investigate.
