Yanic Truesdale

Born in Montréal, Yanic Truesdale is an actor known for his role as Michel Gerard, one of the key supporting characters on the popular family comedy-drama "Gilmore Girls." Truesdale began his career in 1991, appearing in a series of French-Canadian films, TV movies, and sitcoms. His first audition in Los Angeles turned out to be his most successful, as it was reportedly the same audition that landed him on "Gilmore Girls," which debuted on the WB in 2000. The show, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, centers on young mother Lorelai Gilmore, and her teenage daughter, Rory, who live in a fictional, suburban Connecticut town. The series explored friendships, romances, and class, as the younger Rory transitioned from public school to an exclusive private one. The show was also notorious for its frequent pop-cultural references. Truesdale's Gerard played an aloof though decent man who worked alongside mother Lorelai at the Dragonfly Inn, which she co-owned and managed. After "Gilmore Girls," which came to an end in '07, Truesdale appeared on two episodes of the French-Canadian comedy "Rumeurs."
